Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida is returning to the repertoire of the Lodz Grand Theatre. The long awaited title will be presented on 25 April 2018. We are happy to confirm the fantastic news – Luis Chapa, great Mexican singer (enthusiastically received and hailed as a heroic tenor by the German press) will sing the role of Radamés.
It means that Lodz Grand Theatre will join the ranks of world famous houses like Metropolitan Opera, Basel, Bern, Trieste, Busseto, Seattle, Leeds, Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Essen and Mannheim which had the honour to welcome this prominent tenor. With great success, Luis Chapa has created the most famous tenor parts there: Cavaradossi in Tosca, Pollione in Norma, Calaf in Turandot, Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana, Don José in Carmen, Canio in Pagliacci, Samson in Samson and Delilah, Manrico in Il trovatore, Foresto in Attila as well as title roles in Don Carlos and Otello.
We would like to kindly invite you to join us for this spectacular staging directed by Marek Weiss-Grzesiński and performed by world famous tenor and our remarkable singers Monika Cichocka (Aida) and Agnieszka Makówka (Amneris). The performance will be conducted the great Tadeusz Kozłowski.
