Soloists

In 2008, he graduated with honors from the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, majoring in solo singing under the guidance of Prof. Andrzej Niemierowicz. Later that same year, he was engaged as a soloist at the Grand Theatre in Łódź, where he made his debut in the role of Freddy Eynsford-Hill in the musical "My Fair Lady" by F. Loewe. He participated in vocal courses led by renowned instructors such as Helena Łazarska, Kaludi Kaludov, and Piotr Kusiewicz. He received his first distinctions at the First Festival of Italian Belcanto Opera Music "Belcanto Per Sempre" in 2012.

 

His repertoire includes roles such as Max in Weber's "Der Freischütz," Don José in Bizet's "Carmen," Cavaradossi in Puccini's "Tosca," Pinkerton in Puccini's "Madama Butterfly," Manrico in Verdi's "Il Trovatore," Ismaele in Verdi's "Nabucco," Hoffmann in Offenbach's "The Tales of Hoffmann," Samson in Saint-Saëns's "Samson and Delilah," the Prince in Dvořák's "Rusalka," Steuermann in Wagner's "The Flying Dutchman," Stefan in "The Haunted Manor," Jontek in "Halka," Parias in Moniuszko's "Paria," Manru in Paderewski's "Manru," Otello in Verdi's "Otello," and Barinkay in Johann Strauss's "The Gypsy Baron." In addition to opera, he performs choral works such as Mozart's "Coronation Mass" and Verdi's "Requiem."

 

He has recordings to his credit, including Mozart's "Coronation Mass," Schnittke's "Requiem," and Moniuszko's "Halka" recorded on the occasion of Stanisław Moniuszko's 200th birthday at the Grand Theatre in Poznań by the DUX label.

 

He collaborates with various opera houses and theaters, including the Krakow Opera, Poznań Grand Theatre, Baltic Opera, Wrocław Opera, Opera on the Castle in Szczecin, Silesian Opera, Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck, Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, and the Grand Theatre - National Opera in Warsaw. In the 2015/2016 season, he made his debut at the Grand Theatre - National Opera in Warsaw as Stefan in "The Haunted Manor" by Moniuszko, directed by David Pountney, and conducted by Andriy Yurkevych.

 

He has worked with directors such as Waldemar Zawodziński, Mariusz Treliński, Krystyna Janda, Janina Niesobska, Marek Weiss, Wojciech Walasik, Jacek Gąsiorowski, Laco Adamik, Herbert Adler, Michał Znaniecki, Jarosław Kilian, Roberto Skolmowski, Andrejs Żagars, Thilo Reinhardt, Thaddeus Strassberger, Johannes Erath, David Pountney, Graham Vick, and conductors including Tadeusz Kozłowski, Łukasz Borowicz, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, José Maria Florêncio, Tadeusz Wiencek, Dariusz Różankiewicz, Wojciech Rodek, Piotr Wójtewicz, Andriy Yurkevych, Bassem Akiki, Sławomir Chrzanowski, Tomasz Tokarczyk, Krzesimir Dębski, Francesco Angelico, Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, Patrick Fournillier, Gabriel Chmura, Seokwon Hong, Vladimir Kiradjiev, Walter Gugerbauer, and Marco Guidarini.

 

On October 1, 2019, on the occasion of the 200th birthday of Stanisław Moniuszko, Dominik Sutowicz performed the role of Jontek in a concert version of "Halka" at the Berliner Philharmonie under the baton of Gabriel Chmura.

 

In 2022, the artist was awarded the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture "Gloria Artis."
