Gintautas Potockas was born in Lithuania, where he studied at the Vilnius Ballet School. He continued his education at the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Lodz (specialty: dance pedagogy) and became a lecturer at this university in 2018. He has been the Vice-Dean of the Dance Department at his alma mater, as well as its ambassador since 2021.
Career:

- from 1997 to 1998 – The ROMA Musical Theatre in Warsaw
- since 1998 – The Grand Theatre in Lodz

- Bronze Medal "Meritorious for Culture Gloria Artis" awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage
- Award of the Marshal of the Łódź Province for exceptional artistic achievements
- Extraordinary Golden Mask in recognition of the ballet artistry presented consistently for many seasons in solo parts and duets, another confirmation of which was the performance of Silence on the stage of the Grand Theatre in Lodz
