Concert performance. Opera in three acts.
"Tosca" is considered a quintessential example of verismo opera, a movement of which Puccini was one of the main representatives. It is undoubtedly a story full of shocking realism drawn from life, but above all, it is a moving tale of tragic love. "Tosca" is one of Puccini's most famous works and one of the operas most frequently performed on world stages. The popularity of this title is no accident. The piece stands out with its dynamic action reminiscent of a great thriller, as well as its diverse music, which easily sticks in the memory thanks to the use of leitmotifs. The drama of Cavaradossi and Tosca is attractive also because it is universal, consistently resonating with successive generations of audiences – in every era, individuals find themselves entangled in the course of history, which ruthlessly grinds even the noblest of emotions. In the concert, soloists, choir, and orchestra of the Grand Theatre in Łódź will perform.
