LA TOISON D’OR – the most awaited premiere in the world

We are pleased to inform you that the premiere of Alexandre Tansman’s "La Toison d’Or" – co-produced by Tansman Festival and Lodz Grand Theatre – is acknowledged by the Opera magazine as one of the most awaited opera productions of the season. The world premiere of Tansman’s long-lost opera – scheduled for 2nd December 2016 at the Lodz Grand Theatre – is mentioned among premiere productions of world’s greatest opera houses like Viennese Staatsoper, Milanese La Scala, Brussels Palais de la Monnaie, London’s Covent Garden or Stockholm’s Royal Opera.
It took a long time to find the lost score. The search was conducted by the Association for the Promotion of Culture – the organizer of Tansman Festival – mainly in Paris, Vienna, Milan and London where the biggest music publishers who closely cooperated with Tansman in the past are seated. The score could be found neither in publishing houses, nor in Tansman’s private archives in Paris. Eventually, the manuscript was discovered in the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris. Tansman Festival, Association for the Promotion of Culture with the help of Fabryka Nut edited and prepared score, piano-vocal score and orchestral parts of La Toison d’Or for publishing and for the first public performance during the closing ceremony of Tansman Festival.
