Today is the world premiere of the Alexandre Tansman’s opera buffa LA TOISON D’OR

Lodz Grand Theatre will be hosting tonight the world premiere of LA TOISON D’OR – long lost opera which was recently found thanks to the efforts of Andrzej Wendland and the rest of the Tansman Festival team. LA TOISON D’OR was composed in 1938 by Alexandre Tansman – world famous and admired composer neglected in Poland because of his descent, talent and sense of style. The world premiere of LA TOISON D’OR was acknowledged by the British magazine Opera as one of the most awaited opera productions of December 2016.

The 20th jubilee Festival culminates in a production of "La Toison d'Or" by Alexandre Tansman, rediscovered after a painstaking search. In High Note: Andrzej Wendland of the Tansman Association for the Promotion of Culture, Maria Sartova, who directs the production, and Wojciech Rodek of the host Grand Theatre in Łódź.
