Soloists

He is a graduate of the Department of Instrumental and Vocal Performance (vocal-acting section) at the Music Academy in Łódź, under the guidance of Professor Tadeusz Kopacki. He made his debut in 1988 in a student performance of Stanisław Moniuszko's opera "Verbum Nobile", staged at the Grand Theatre in Łódź. He continued his vocal education in Zurich and Munich under the renowned German singer and pedagogue Professor E. Haeflinger.

 

He participated in vocal competitions, including the A. Didur Competition in Bytom and the F. Vinas Competition in Barcelona. Since 1990, he has been a soloist at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, collaborating during this period with the Opera in Wrocław. Since 1997, he has been a soloist at the Grand Theatre in Łódź. Additionally, he has made guest appearances on the stages of the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, Krakow Opera, and the Opera at the Castle in Szczecin.

 

His expertise lies in classical and romantic repertoire, including chamber music. He excels particularly well in singspiel roles. His portrayal of Papageno in "The Magic Flute" earned him a nomination for the A. Hiolski Award for Best Male Performance in the 2001/2002 season. He was honored with the "Merits for ZASP" award and recognized as an Artistic Personality with the Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship Award.

 

Among his notable artistic achievements, he performed two concerts as part of the artistic initiative "Lange Nacht der Museen." In 2001, he presented works by German, Russian, and Polish composers inspired by Mickiewicz, and in 2002, he performed Franz Schubert's "Winterreise" to the words of Stanisław Barańczak. These concerts were held in Darmstadt at the request of the Polish Institute, Chopin Society, and Adam Mickiewicz Institute. In 2001, he participated in a concert marking the inauguration of the "Association for the Dialogue of Four Cultures", the precursor to the "Festival of the Dialogue of Four Cultures", and in a concert for the opening of the academic year in Łódź.

 

He performs regularly in concerts organized by the Music Academy in Łódź and the Łódź University of Technology. He also collaborates with the Łódź Philharmonic. He took part in concert performances of operas such as Rossini's "Il barbiere di Siviglia" and Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess", where his portrayal of Crown received exceptionally favorable reviews from the audience and critics. Performances in various European countries culminate in concerts in venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Theater an der Wien, and the Festival Theatre in Salzburg.

 

On the Łódź opera stage, he can be seen in roles such as Dancairo in "Carmen", Schnauard in "La bohème", Papageno in "The Magic Flute", Bryndas in "Krakowiacy i Górale", Henry Ashton in "Lucia di Lammermoor", Maciej in "The Haunted Manor", Marquis d'Obigny in "La traviata", Haly in "L'italiana in Algeri", Danilo in "The Merry Widow", and Figaro in "The Barber of Seville".
