LET’S SING TOGETHER
on the National Independence Day, a day of joy and pride!
November 11 is a particularly significant date for Poles. On this day, the armistice was signed, officially ending World War I. It was this event that allowed Poland, after 123 years of partitions, to reappear on the map, regaining its independence. On this day as well, Józef Piłsudski arrived in Warsaw, and the Regency Council entrusted him with command over the Polish army.
Today, the National Independence Day is one of the most important state ceremonies in Poland and is celebrated every year in a solemn and extraordinary way. It is also a moment of reflection and contemplation, a time for reconciliation, an opportunity to correct past mistakes and forget them. One of the most fitting ways to celebrate is to spend time together in an atmosphere of smiles, understanding, and a sense of community, accompanied by Polish patriotic and folk songs, as well as those we know and love from the rich Polish opera and song repertoire.
As the unforgettable Jerzy Waldorff – writer, music critic, and theorist – used to say, music softens manners, and throughout history, this has proven to be true, demonstrating that the world would be unbearable without music. We warmly invite you to this special meeting with music, which not only softens manners but also – perhaps most importantly – brings us moments of joy and an opportunity to celebrate this important holiday together with the artists of the Theatre Choir.
Join us – there will be no shortage of emotion and joy!
